DIY Fair

On Thursday, Create Society and some other university societies joined forces with Transition, a group that aims to increase student sustainability and environmental awareness while reducing waste, to host a DIY fair centered around practical ways to save resources and money. A craft event with a green twist. What could possibly appeal to me more?!

Batik-making.

What a lovely craft nook.

I volunteered to help man our (Create Society's) stand, where we had all sorts of thrift shop bric-a-brac, knitting, collage-making and general crafty goodness going on.

Little wooden frame I decorated with ribbon, yarn, and second-hand lace. Getting people interested in crafting with repurposed materials should be a full-time job. I would excel.

Looks like a fun day! I like the sound of a create society.

That's so awesome that your school has these creative/ crafty groups! And we should definitely start using recycled materials in our projects more.
