Friday evening: Starbucks on Schlossplatz with my deary sister and some very atmospheric clouds (this was minutes before it started to pour).
Saturday: flea market with some longtime visiting friends, and then the gorgeous covered market hall of Stuttgart. On the ground floor, all the most exotic and delicious-smelling foods you can think up.
Running around the top: Merz & Benzing, a store of equally delicious (though not edible) home decor, garden furniture, bedding, ceramics, jewelry and generally beautiful things that you don't need but that make your life more fun.
Such as this "diamond", which Mara is convinced will someday adorn her finger as a nice little gift from her future husband. Uh huh.
There's the other side of the store, seen from across the gap, with the covered market stalls down below. Divine.
And my flea market find: a vintage cake platter, perfect for hanging jewelry! I have this love of displaying jewelry on objects not designed for displaying jewelry.
Saturday night was a BBQ at Mara's house, but we were too busy BBQ-ing to snap piccies.
